Theorist Alfred Adler

Cyber-bullying can have a long term effect on an indiviual. According the pyscologist, Alfred Adler, his studies proves that events in early childhood can affect a person in their later age. Alfred theory is that an intense feeling of insercurity is based on failure to resolve the feelings evoked by childhood experiences of helplessness.
What Alfred is saying is that, if problems such as cyber bullying is not solved in early childhood it will have an effect in that person adultlife. It will most likely cause that person to be insecure in their everyday life, like at thier jobs in relationships etc.

Theorist Erik Erikson

According to theorist Erik Erikson, his thoery on child development is that, he believed that each stage of development is focused on overcoming a conflict. Success or failure in dealing with conflicts can impact overall functioning. This theory relates to cyber-bullying because if a child fails to deal with such harrassment and conflict, thier developmental stage and overall functioning will be affected.

Based on erickson theory, the stages that can be affect by cyber-bullying is stages 4-6. These stages range from the age groups of 7-20. These are the ages that cyber-bullying affect an individual. In these stages, psychoscial crisis that's being affected is, industry vs inferiority, ego-identity vs role-confusion and intamacy vs isolation.

Cyber bullying and child development

Cyber-bullying plays a huge role on a child development. One effect cyber-bullying can have on a child is problems and development with thier self identity. Cyber-bullying lowers a child's self esteem which cause them to grow with a negative set mind of theirselves. Low self esteem in children causes developmental delays in many cases because children are scared to interact, ask questions. and they avoid being a part of anything that needs interacting with others.

If a child is being affected by cyber-bullying, a sign you may see in that child is that, he/she who onced loved going online has stayed away from the computer. Or also if a child who once loved to go shopping or play sports with thier friends have now avoided socializing all together.
